ジョセフ・H・ピラティスが生涯を通じて探求し続けたReturn to Life（本来の生命力）やYourHealth（あなたの健康）では
「本当の休息（True Rest）」という大切な事も伝えていました、
運動と睡眠というバランスの重要性を現代に伝える為に具現化したのです。
私たちはこれまで、
「運動すること」や「鍛えること」ばかりに価値を置き、
休息の質や回復の在り方を深く考えることなく過ごしてきました。
しかし、身体は
動くことで整い、正しく休むことで回復する
その両方があって初めて、本来の機能を取り戻します。
ジョセフ・ピラティスが見つめたのは、
自然の中で生きる動物や、新生児の姿でした。
彼らは必要以上に力を使わず、
動くときはしなやかに動き、
休むときは丸まり、守られた姿勢で深く休みます。
そこには、運動と休息が分断されていない身体の知恵がありました。
VBED®は、
ピラティス運動を行うためのマシンであり、
同時に、深い休息と睡眠を導くベッドです。
運動によって身体を目覚めさせ、
休息によって神経と筋肉を解放する。
VBED®は、その両方を同じ空間・同じ構造の中で可能にします。
V字構造が骨格に適切な抵抗を与え、
動きの中では安定と集中を、
眠りの中では解放と回復をもたらします。

Joseph H. Pilates devoted his life to exploring what he called
Return to Life and Your Health —
and within these works, he also emphasized something profoundly important:
True Rest.
To convey to the modern world the essential balance between movement and sleep,
we have given this philosophy a physical form.
For too long, we have placed value almost exclusively on
exercise and training,
without deeply considering the quality of our rest or the nature of recovery.
Yet the body restores its true function only when both are present:
it aligns through movement,
and it recovers through proper rest.
Only with both does the body return to its original state.
What Joseph Pilates observed were
animals living in nature and newborn infants.
They do not use unnecessary force.
When they move, they move with suppleness and efficiency.
When they rest, they curl into a protected posture
and enter deep, restorative rest.
Within them exists a bodily wisdom
in which movement and rest are not separated.
VBED® is both
a machine for practicing Pilates
and a bed that guides the body into deep rest and sleep.
Movement awakens the body.
Rest releases the nervous system and muscles.
VBED® makes both possible
within the same space and the same structure.
Its V-shaped structure provides appropriate resistance to the skeleton.
In movement, it creates stability and concentration.
In sleep, it brings release and recovery.
This is a philosophy that does not divide movement and rest,
but understands them as one continuous cycle.
What VBED® seeks to communicate is not
“movement or rest.”
It is that the balance between movement and rest creates true health.
VBED® is not merely a piece of equipment for training.
Nor is it merely a bed for sleeping.
It is a system through which
the body is learned through movement,
and re-educated through sleep.
That is the meaning of VBED®.
