VBED®は、ジョセフ・H・ピラティスが生涯を通じて探求し続けた
「本当の休息（True Rest）」という思想を、
ピラティス運動と睡眠・休息の両立というかたちで現代に具現化した存在です。
私たちはこれまで、
「運動すること」や「鍛えること」ばかりに価値を置き、
休息の質や回復の在り方を深く考えることなく過ごしてきました。
しかし、身体は
動くことで整い、正しく休むことで回復する
その両方があって初めて、本来の機能を取り戻します。
ジョセフ・ピラティスが見つめたのは、
自然の中で生きる動物や、新生児の姿でした。
彼らは必要以上に力を使わず、
動くときはしなやかに動き、
休むときは丸まり、守られた姿勢で深く休みます。
そこには、運動と休息が分断されていない身体の知恵がありました。
VBED®は、
ピラティス運動を行うためのマシンであり、
同時に、深い休息と睡眠を導くベッドです。
運動によって身体を目覚めさせ、
休息によって神経と筋肉を解放する。

VBED® is the modern embodiment of the philosophy of “True Rest”—
a concept that Joseph H. Pilates explored throughout his lifetime—
realized through the integration of Pilates movement and sleep-based rest.
For many years, we have placed value almost exclusively on movement—
on training, strengthening, and doing more—
while giving little thought to the quality of rest and recovery.
Yet the body functions as it should only when both are present:
it is refined through movement
and restored through proper rest.
What Joseph Pilates observed was nature itself—
animals living in the wild and the姿 of newborn infants.
They do not use unnecessary force.
They move fluidly when action is required,
and when they rest, they naturally curl into protected, supported positions.
Within them exists an innate bodily intelligence
where movement and rest are never separated.
VBED® is both
a machine for Pilates movement
and a bed that guides the body into deep rest and sleep.
Movement awakens the body.
Rest releases the nervous system and muscles.
VBED® makes both possible within the same space and structure.
Its V-shaped design provides appropriate resistance to the skeletal system—
offering stability and focus during movement,
and release and recovery during rest.
This is not a separation of movement and rest,
but a continuous, unified cycle.
What VBED® seeks to convey is not
“movement or rest,”
but that balance between movement and rest creates true health.
VBED® is neither simply a training apparatus
nor merely a bed for sleep.
It is a place to learn the body through movement,
and to re-educate the body through rest.
